Visiting Maui Hawaii

Every year my husband and I take a trip to Maui, it’s one of our favorite destinations and where we spent our honeymoon almost twelve years ago. Wherever I travel, i’m always on the hunt for the best little coffee shops and restaurants, usually the ones that offer something unique, vegan, and/or gluten-free. I put together this short little list of some of my favorite spots to go while visiting Maui.

Where To Eat & Drink While Visiting Maui

Farmers Market Maui

Okay so i’m not much of a fruit bowl person but this acai bowl from the Farmers Market Maui was so delicious, I’m not sure what makes theirs taste so much better but it was definitely the best i’ve ever had.

Mama’s Fish House

Sansei Seafood Restaurant & Sushi Bar

One of our favorite sushi spots we discovered years ago was Sansei in Kapalua. It’s a small place with a lively atmosphere that serves contemporary sushi and Asian inspired dishes. There is usually a pretty long wait so I would recommend having a reservation.

Hana Ranch Restaurant

Drinking a drink at the Hana Ranch Restaurant in Maui Hawaii

We came across this place because honestly, I had to use the restroom and being on the road to Hana all day, we needed to make a pit stop, we decided to check out the menu and saw that the patio had a great view and decided to give it a shot, I ordered the fish tacos and had the “Lime in the Coconut” drink. The tacos were fantastic and the drink was one of my favorites of the whole trip. Highly recommend this restaurant to anyone making the day trip to Hana.

Paia Bay Coffee Bar

This small garden cafe located in Paia instantly became my morning ritual, They are a gluten free/ vegan friendly cafe serving breakfast and lunch daily along with a variety of locally roasted Maui coffees. I recommend trying the iced vegan caramel coconut macadamia nut milk latte.

What To Do While Visiting Maui

Surfing Goat Dairy Farm

Take a tour of one of this goat farm located on the beautiful slopes of Maui’s Haleakala Crater in lower Kula. They also allow you to feed the goats. They also offer goat cheeses and tasting, but I opted out of that part.

Dinner Sail

My husband and I in Maui Hawaii
Dinner sail on the hula girl in Maui
Book a dinner sail on the Hula Girl and sail the Maui coastline. Onboard is a professional chef who has created an amazing menu, using only the freshest local ingredients. The best part is seeing all the whales and dolphins in their natural habitat.

Golf in Kapalua

View of the golf course in Kapalua in Maui
Consistently ranked as the #1 golf course in Hawaii. Offering two courses, the Bay course and the Plantation course. The Bay course has hosted a number of professional tournaments and is known for its 17th hole, the only hole to play over the ocean on Maui. The Plantation course offers ocean views from almost every hole and has been the site of the PGA TOUR’s Sentry Tournament of Champions each January.

Scuba Dive or Snorkel

Scuba diving in Maui
Honestly, I prefer to snorkel, scuba diving was a great experience and I highly recommend trying it, but it just wasn’t for me. Snorkeling was alot easier and enjoyable and I actually saw more sea life while out snorkeling. I saw quite a few sharks and sea turtles. There are a number of different places on the island that will take you out, all depends on what you’re hoping to see.
